Happy New Year

Tonight for New Year's dinner we went to the local Japanese hibachi restaurant.  It seems to entertain the kids.  Because I cannot eat an entire meal myself I often split my dinner with Uma.  To fully understand the following conversation you must see the picture too.

Gary "Uma are you making a mess?"
Uma "Noo"  (Said in her sweetest voice)
Waitress "Oooh"

That would be two bowls of soup, rice, and veggies on her plate.

But she is learning to use her chopsticks.  So proud of my mess maker.

She can sing

Today Uma was singing a song she has composed herself.

It goes like this

"Lamborghini, Lamborghini, Lamborghini, Lamborghini, Lamborghini, Lamborghini, Lamborghini, Lamborghini, Lamborghini, Lamborghini,  Lamborghini, Lamborghini, Lamborghini, Lamborghini. "

This went on for about 10 minutes in the car today.  And yes, she knows what a Lamborghini is and she tells me she wants a pink one.

I myself do not like them.  I have a friend who has one and she doesn't even like it that much.  So all though Uma's song is cute is will not influence me to go out and buy such a silly car but I might buy Uma some voice lessons.

Who made the smell

As you may already know Uma has three brothers, but she is particularly close with her brother Fox who is only 19 months older than her.  Uma and Fox love each other but as they grow older a cold war of sorts has began and they now blame each other for everything.  This is today's conversation with Uma.

Me in the shower.
Uma in the bathroom.

Uma "It smells like farts in here.  Who farted?"
Me "Ok, well that's gross."
Uma "It stinks"
Me "Well I didn't do it.  Uma did you toot toot?"
Uma "No, it was Foxy"

Fox was no where to be seen and I think he was playing down stairs.

Welcome to conversations with Uma

This blog is going to be about my little girl Uma.  Uma is 2 yrs old (almost 3) and says the most wonderful things.  Now I know everyone thinks highly of their child but I think Uma will change the world someday.  I even tell her she will change the world someday (no pressure right).  Now as you can see she is beautiful but she is also smart and not just can say her ABC's, potty trained in one week smart but tells her brother that scratching himself in public is inappropriate smart.  How many 2 yr olds do you know that can say inappropriate and use the word correctly?

I hope to post often as the things she says are funny and insightful as only a child can be.  This will also prevent me from posting these things on facebook and being blocked by friends who might find cute kid stories annoying.
