Come Back Katy Purry

Our sweet kitten, Katy Purry, is currently missing.  Last seen last Tuesday.  I have told Uma that Katy is just on an adventure.  This picture made Uma miss her kitty tonight.

"Really, that's nice.  Is India your friend too?"

We Are Not Making Cakes

Instead of teaching my daughter how to make cake pops or cookies, I am teaching her how to get up each day and go!  We got a new stroller and we have taken off road.  Favorite thing Uma has said during our outings is...

"It's getting buuuummmppeeeee!"

She is from Utah right?

Uma last week coming out of her bedroom said to me...

Uma "Mom I need a board."

Me "A what?"

Uma "A board."

Me  "What are you talking about?"

Uma " I NEED A LONG BOARD!"

Me  "Like a long skate board?"

Uma "NOOO, a long surf board.  Geesh!"

My baby is from a landlocked state right?

She is cute and funny and please watch for her to make the BYU girl's surf team in college.

When she woke up, she was sad to learn, her brothers were going to the movies without her.  So between demanding cotton candy and her rights to the movie she finally said...

Uma and I were lying in bed and she was playing with my hair and her hair.

Uma “Mommy, I am gorgeous.”

I didn’t know she knew that word.

Me “Yes, you are.”

Uma “Mommy, you are gorgeous.”

Ohh she thinks I am pretty, what a sweet girl.

Me “Thank you Uma”

Uma “Puppy is gorgeous.”

Ok, so that word just lost all meaning for me.

Ha, ha, I didn't ask which one she was talking about.   She now knows what happens if you stay in a shower too long and when you get old.

A Princess with a song in her heart

Princess Uma's birthday was today and she is now 3 and oh how the time is flying by.  Just over the weekend she seemed to mature, it's like she knew she needed to act like a three year old not a two year old.

To celebrate her birthday Uma and I took a girls only weekend to Disneyland.  We had a wonderful time and on our trip Uma composed two new songs.

Song #1 sang in line at Disneyland waiting to get on Alice in Wonderland ride.  Please keep in mind she is in full Princess gear while singing this little ditty.

"I hate MY OATMEAL, I hate MY OATMEAL, I HATE MY oatmeal, I HATE MY OATMEAL"

(Now I know she didn't really like the breakfast I made that morning.)

Someday she will get married

So Uma and I love Pinterest (yes Uma does too).  And today we saw a post about taking a picture of your little girl in your wedding dress and then displaying the photo at her wedding when she is grown.  I loved the idea and got my dress out of the back of the closet. 

Uma and I had great fun with this project.

Pancakes

So Uma loves pancakes and some days she only wants to eat pancakes.  She loves all types including plain pancakes, nana-cakes, nutty-cakes, and pb-cakes.

So Friday, Uma and I were home alone (brothers at school) and Daddy was out and about.  I was working in the office but was trying to keep up with some of Uma's demands.  I had already made her nutty-nana-cakes (that's bananas and peanut butter) with whip cream before lunch and it was now about 2pm.

From the kitchen I hear the cupboards open and closing...

Uma yells "Mommy!  Come make me pancakes!"
Me (yelling from the office)  "I already made you pancakes today, I'm not making anymore."
Uma yells " Fine!  I'll make them myself."
Me (still yelling from office) "You don't know how to make pancakes."
A moment of silence
Uma "Then you make them."

Uma wants to surf

Uma: " When we go to Hawaii, I want to surf.  Surf like Bethany."  (Bethany Hamilton, Soul Surfer)
Me:  "Ok"
Uma:  "I want to surf"

Conversation had tonight in Don Pedro's Bathroom, Heber City Utah while Uma was pooping. 

A sad day for Uma

Uma lost a good friend today, her kitty cat, Mitzi.  Mitzi was accidentally ran over today and will be greatly missed by Uma.  Here is her favorite picture of her and her kitty taking a nap this summer after a long day of swimming and playing by the pool.



I want...

Uma:  "Mom I want, I want, a..ummm. Princess surfboard."
Me: "OK"
Uma: "I want a Princess surfboard, in Hawaii.  Go get it."
Me: "OK"

Sometimes she just keeps talking

I would love to post all the cute fun things Uma has said today but there has been so many!  This kid has talked for hours and at this point I fear she will never shut up.  If I do not respond to her 1 million questions she yells "Mom talk!" 

Some of her adorable toddler behavior today has included showing me how a girl dances to "mon -i-qroll"  also known as rock-n-roll.  Just imagine Uma at the dinner table, standing on her chair, and swinging her hips like she is Elvis.  And she has declared her stuffed pink bunny and green duck to now be parents of her hello kitty doll. 

And when she is not talking she is either wanting to play exercise or skateboard (pics below).  All done mostly in the nude as my little Uma is a free spirit and I guess clothes (especially shirts) inhibit her craft in some way.
